Do Gooders – New BBC Sitcom Recording

  • Do Gooders – New BBC Sitcom Recording

Do Gooders is a fresh ensemble workplace sitcom for BBC Radio 4 that takes us behind the curtain of the charity industry and mines the numerous frustrations that come with trying to ‘do good’ on an industrial scale. The show follows the fundraising events team of a [fictional] midlevel charity, Alzheimer’s Alliance.

‘AA’ are constantly aware that they’re never more than one ‘ice bucket challenge’ away from slipping right down the league tables. Compounding external pressures is a fiercely competitive battle between the teams responsible for the two types of events fundraising, Challenge Events (Bike Rides, Marathons) and Virtual Events (Online).

The show is written and created by comedian Garrett Millerick, who has featured on every Best Reviewed Shows of The Edinburgh Festival list since 2018. Do Gooders will be produced by Avalon, the multi-award-winning talent management, television production and live promotion group behind hit shows such as Not Going Out, Breeders and Taskmaster.

The cast includes Frank Skinner, Garrett Millerick, Ahir Shah and Ania Magliano.

The show will record on Monday 20th & Tuesday 21st May and Monday 3rd June 2024 at Theatre Peckham, London SE5 and each audience will see two episodes. Booking is now open so if you would like to join us for night of top comedy, then apply now!
